US Veterans
Administration
Buys their First NeuroSwitch for a
Disabled Veteran
Gary Griffin developed amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
(ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) after serving with the USAF in
the 1991 Gulf War.
When Gary began to lose the ability to use traditional Assistive
Technology (AT) switches, his wife Lisa searched for one that would
enable him to continue to use his communications systems, including
Words+ EZ Keys®, Microsoft internet and email software and
his Freedom 2000®.
Her conclusion and that of Gary's physician was that the only
workable solution was a NeuroSwitch.
Lisa contacted Speech Language Pathologist Caitlin Smith
MA CCC/SLP who is an expert with NeuroSwitch and the two worked together with
the VA at regional and
national levels to secure reimbursement.
The VA responded withfull
reimbursement for Gary's NeuroSwitch System and consumables. |
