How NeuroSwitch Works
ESTABLISHED EMG HARDWARE + INNOVATIVE SOFTWARE = A POWERFUL AT SWITCH
For 20 years exceptionally reliable electromyography (EMG) monitors called NeuroEDUCATOR, from Therapeutic Alliances Inc. (TAI), have been used clinically to detect very weak EMG signals in disabled muscles. The signals are detected through adhesive, non-invasive, painless sensors on the surface of the skin. These are similar to sensors placed on the skin to monitor the heart.
NeuroSwitch uses those signals, even in areas that may be considered paralysed (see Joost's story) for reliable communications and control.
Neuroswitch is designed to work when others may no longer be able to, due to severe disability.
