Recognizing International Day of Persons with Disabilities

On December 3rd, Control Bionics is proud to recognize International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) and promote inclusion for persons with disabilities all over the world.

At Control Bionics, we envision a world where all people have the same, shared ability to communicate and participate in the world around them.

We believe that everyone should be able to communicate their thoughts, wants, and needs to their loved ones, neighbours, and caregivers, and we are proud to create technology that allows our users to do so.

One of our users, Maree, was diagnosed with ALS/MND, and lost the ability to communicate her thoughts to her family. Without the NeuroNode Trilogy Maree was limited to saying “yes” or no”. Previously, “we’d mainly be guessing,” explained her daughters. But with the NeuroNode Trilogy, Maree can help her daughters choose baby names and more.

Another user, William, has challenges with his mobility and is also unable to use his voice. He uses his eyes and facial expressions to communicate his thoughts, but this can be tough with people who don’t know him very well. To combat this, William uses the NeuroNode Trilogy to generate speech. He calls his assistive technology his superpower.

On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and everyday, we strive toward inclusion for all persons with disabilities around the globe, giving them a voice and control over their world.
