Download Your Funding Road Map

Do you have questions about the funding process? You’re not alone. In the US, there are a few different ways to get a device funded, but one of the most popular is through insurance. Control Bionics works with organizations like Medicare, Medicaid, the Veterans Health Administration, private insurance, and various education systems to offer funding assistance so that your out-of-pocket cost is as low as possible.

Funding can seem like a big hurdle, but our dedicated funding staff works behind the scenes to make your experience as easy as possible. Our funding team has already verified your insurance prior to receiving your speech pathology report, helping make the funding process as quick as possible.

Control Bionics knows the importance of life-changing connections, which is why we guide you through the process so you can focus on what matters most. We have asked our funding team to put together a checklist that outlines the basic steps of the insurance process that we go through to get the funding you need for your device.

Collect Documents

Your funding specialist has received the completed speech pathology report and is gathering all necessary documents (prescription, chart notes from previous doctor visits, etc.) in order to get your request ready to submit to your insurance.

Submit to Insurance

Once all the necessary documents are received, your funding specialist will submit a request for prior authorization (if necessary) to your insurance. Some insurances can take up to 30 days to review the request. Depending on your insurance, after we receive approval there may be additional steps before we can send your device.

Our experienced funding team knows the ins and outs of the confusing insurance landscape, so you can trust that they are taking all the necessary steps to get your device to you as quickly as possible.

Final Check

Even after we receive an initial approval from the insurance, we sometimes have to wait for a secondary approval before we can ship your device to you. Our goal is to keep cost at a minimum for our clients!

Once your insurance approves your device, the specialist will confirm all paperwork is complete. Then, production will start prepping your device for shipment!

This post focuses on funding sources in the US, however, funding is also available in other countries. In Australia, we’re a registered NDIS Provider and in Canada we are ADP Approved. To learn more about funding outside of the US, contact us.
