Funding a Device

Funding can seem like a big hurdle, but our dedicated funding staff works behind the scenes to make your experience as easy as possible. Each funding case is specific to the individual, and our team helps you navigate the landscape to getting your speech generating device.

Our team knows the importance of life-changing connections, which is why we guide you through the process so you can focus on what matters most.

In the USA, we offer funding through Medicare, Medicaid, the Veterans Health Administration, private insurance, and various education systems. The device can also be purchased through private pay.

Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurance

If instructed by your rep, fill out the Control Bionics ABN or Lincare ABN.

Veterans Health Administration

The NeuroNode Trilogy has been fully funded for Veterans in the USA under the care of the Veterans Health Administration following an assistive technology assessment with a qualified VA clinician. If you, your client, or loved one is a Veteran living with loss of speech and paralysis, contact us to learn how we can coordinate an assessment with your local VA where appropriate.

Education Systems

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA 2004) states that special education should enable students to access participate in, and demonstrate progress with respect to the general education curriculum. AAC devices can be deemed educationally necessary by the education team and written into their Individualized Education Plan to help reach their goals.

You can talk with your Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to see if a “high tech” speech generating device (SGD) should be considered due to communication limitations impacting the child’s access to, and potential to benefit from, the general curriculum. There may be options to fund with the school or a family’s private health insurance.

For Clinicians: Evaluation Template

It can be time-consuming and stressful to complete an evaluation for funding. Our team stays up to date on the latest requirements and will help to ensure your evaluation is on the right path to funding approval. We’ve put together an evaluation template to help get you started – use this as a reporting tool during the assessment or as a template for your own evaluation report.
